Since joining Brand Events in 2008, I’ve found myself marketing events to foodies, fashionistas, family historians and golfers – there’s no job like it for variety. After spending four years getting an MA in Music at the University of Glasgow and organising clubnights and special events at the union (QMU all the way, for anyone who cares) I realised I was quite good at getting people to come to stuff I’d organised, and events marketing was the logical career. I ended up at Brand Events after a long process of phoning London events companies looking for a work placement – you wouldn’t believe how hard it is to get people to employ you for free!
A musician by trade, I’d never seen myself as an “office” type of person, but after a few weeks at Brand Events, I realised I’d simply been working in the wrong offices – the people are fantastic, I never go a day without laughing, and there’s nothing more satisfying than seeing thousands of people loving your events.
Outside of work, I love: live music, Glasgow, whisky, receiving letters, films, eyeliner, jazz, hats, obsidian, food, chilling, hugs and Dave Grohl. Yum
